The Prince’s Trust Online

The Prince’s (now the King’s) Trust is a large UK charity focused on helping young people find work or start their own business.

I was the only UX designer in an agile team tasked with investigate how to integrate an improved online learning platform into a range of existing offerings. To do this in the most impactful way we travelled across the UK speaking to young people in youth centres to understand how they are currently being helped, what motivates them, what do their days and challenges looked like. We asked them to create their own personas and then mapped out in a storyboard-fashion potential use cases for how the new online platform could help them.

I then developed mobile-first wireframes and did usability tests, as well as create high-fidelity mockups and infographics. I also created a persona deck for target audiences as well as internal workers. The results were clear service design journeys that were used as a guidance for the entire team to showcase our goal, a persona deck that helped relate to our users and mobile-first designs that could be used for development.
